A Decade of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering

From the corridors of busy ICUs to leading national-scale biomedical deployments, I’ve spent the last decade transforming healthcare with tools that save lives.

I’m Shabani Majidi, a Tanzanian biomedical engineer driven by purpose, precision, and people. My journey began with a diploma from Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, followed by intense, hands-on training with leading manufacturers like Abbott, Nihon Kohden, Werfen, and Edan. From South Africa to India, Hungary to the UAE, I’ve pursued knowledge across continents not for titles, but to bring excellence back home.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a wide range of medical equipment, from diagnostic and immunoassay analyzers to imaging systems and patient monitors. I’ve led 200+ installations, trained frontline healthcare staff, and played a crucial role in nationwide projects that improve patient outcomes including a major Point-of-Care Testing initiative at Muhimbili National Hospital.

But beyond the machines, I believe in people. Every calibration, every training, every service call is a commitment to the health workers who rely on these tools and the patients they serve.

I’m not just an engineer. I’m a believer in progress, a bridge between technology and healing. My goal is to empower healthcare institutions across Africa with the confidence, tools, and technical support they need to thrive.

2012

The journey began in 2012 when I enrolled at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology to study biomedical equipment engineering. It was a rigorous four-year course filled with challenge, growth, and purpose. Those years shaped my technical foundation and tested my resolve. I studied hard, stayed focused, and grew stronger through every module and lab. In 2016, I proudly graduated and stepped forward into the world of healthcare technology, ready to turn knowledge into service..

2016

In 2016, I entered the next defining chapter of my journey. I joined Aga Khan Hospital as an intern, a rare opportunity that allowed me to walk among some of the country’s finest healthcare professionals. They not only mentored me but also trusted me with real responsibility. Through intensive training and hands-on work, I refined my practical skills and grew confident in my role. It was here that theory met reality, and my purpose as a biomedical engineer began to crystallize.

2017

The year 2017 brought a new challenge as I joined Phillips Pharmaceuticals as a Service Engineer. My role quickly expanded across critical care departments, from ICUs and theatres to molecular diagnostics and core labs. I wasn’t just maintaining systems, I was helping healthcare teams save lives with reliable technology. Every installation, every repair, every conversation with end users pushed me to higher levels of precision and care. It was a time of professional sharpening and deeper purpose.

2024

In 2024, I stepped into another transformative role - Project Manager at Nebula Healthcare, leading the IVD equipment marketing division. This phase has brought a broader strategic lens to my career, where clinical engineering meets market insight. My mission now includes building trust not only in equipment, but also in brand and vision. I continue to serve the healthcare sector, this time by helping institutions make smarter, data-driven choices in diagnostic technology.

Certificates

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to train with some of the biggest names in medical technology, not just to sharpen my skills, but because they believed I could carry their standards forward. Each certificate I’ve earned came through hands-on work, real challenges, and the trust of industry leaders who saw value in what I bring to the field. It’s not just about learning, it’s about being recognized as someone who can deliver.
